He first married Beatrix Hughes, daughter of Edward Walter Hughes and Jeanie Hawkins on 11 September 1906 in St John’s Church, Beaufort, Victoria. He secondly married Mary Birks Jolley (1915-1994) on 13 December 1945.

25 Beatrix Hughes, daughter of Edward Walter Hughes and Jeanie Hawkins was born on 23 April 1884 in Ascot Vale, Victoria. She died on 11 November 1943 in Adelaide, South Australia.
